Illustrator & Storyteller
Robin completed her honours bachelors of fine arts in the University of Lakehead in Thunder Bay, Ontario. She began her artistic career creating customized puppets and dolls to accompany classical children's stories and began publishing the internationally recognized magazine Canadian Creations for doll and teddy bear artists across Canada.
Robin's interest and activity in storytelling resulted in commissions for illustrations and portraits of children and animals. With over a decade of experience her aptitude for drawing and skill for realistic depiction is evident in her attention to detail. She researches her compositions carefully, studying from both life and photograph to ensure realism of expression, posture, and emotion in her characters.
Robin produces artwork in both colour and grey scale but does not mix media and limits the choice for her one-of-a-kind drawings to include either graphite or Prisma coloured pencils.
To date, Robin has published numerous black and white illustrations for use in the quarterly publication of Canadian Creations Magazine and due to years performing contract archaeology in Ontario, British Columbia, and the Yukon Territory she has also published multiple line drawings of archaeological discoveries to accompany academic reports, scientific journals, and conference presentations.
